Linear and Walking Distance
To better understand future potential usage of the Gotham Park I've created two maps. Each map indicates quarter-mile, half-mile, and three-quarter mile distances. One delineates linear distance and the other "walking" distance.

Parks within "Walking Distance"
Playing around with Google Maps this morning I decided to measure exactly how far it was from my house to all of the area parks that I frequent with my daughter.
- Sidney Marcus Park, Morningside - 1.3 miles
- Sunken Garden Park, Morningside - 1.4 miles
- McClatchy Park, Ansely Park- 1.5 miles
- Atlanta Botanical Garden - 1.6 miles
- Wynn Park, Ansely Park - 1.8 miles
- Piedmont Park, 14th St Entrance - 2.0 miles
- Piedmont Park, Park Drive Entrance - 2.1 miles
Mostly, we drive to these parks. That excludes any of them from being defined as a "neighborhood park." Neighborhood parks are typically defined as being within "walking distance" which is itself, is defined a as one quarter mile. None of the parks are within one quarter mile and none are particularly walkable as either Piedmont Rd or Monroe Dr-- both very busy streets-- must be crossed to gain access any and all of these parks.
